Alan Ruck and Matthew Broderick Reunite at "Succession" Premiere to Celebrate "Ferris Bueller"

It was an extra special night for Alan Ruck, who plays Connor in the hit series “Succession”, at the season four premiere party in New York on March 20. The actor posed alongside his “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” costar Matthew Broderick, who played the title character in the iconic 1986 teen comedy. HBO Max shared a TikTok video of the two goofing around in a photo booth at the party, with the caption “Life moves pretty fast” – a reference to the beloved movie.

The film, which made $70 million and made its stars household names, follows Ferris and his best friend Cameron (played by Ruck) as they get into all sorts of hijinks around Chicago. Although a sequel was never made before director John Hughes passed away in 2009, Ruck once pitched an idea for a followup movie about the two characters at the end of their lives.

Ruck and Broderick’s friendship actually predates their “Ferris Bueller” days, as they starred together in the Broadway play “Biloxi Blues” in 1985. The two have been friends ever since, and it’s clear from photos of them at the “Succession” premiere party that their bond is still strong.
