Burt Reynolds Supports Angelina Jolie Amid Feud With Father Jon Voight

Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds had a close bond that dated back to when they starred in “Deliverance” in 1972. During an interview in 2015, Reynolds was asked about his friend’s feud with Angelina Jolie, and the “Longest Yard” star did not mince words. “Jon Voight is so special, and he doesn’t deserve the kind of treatment that his daughter’s given to him,” he said while on “Loose Women.” Reynolds even recalled warning Voight about his daughter when she was only 10 years old. “I remember when she was 10 years old… and I went over to Jon and said, ‘You’re in big trouble, she is going to be wild.'” He then went on to express how fortunate he was to have a well-behaved son.

The comments came several years after Voight and Jolie reconciled in 2011. Voight told the Daily Mail that it was a precious moment for him to be reunited with his daughter. Reports say that Jolie wanted her children to have a relationship with their grandfather. After his interview, Reynolds changed his opinion of the “Girl, Interrupted” actor and even jokingly suggested both Voight and Jolie as presidential candidates. “I like her a lot. She’s not afraid to tackle anything, and she’s a very, very sweet girl,” he told the Daily Beast in 2016. Over the years, Voight and Jolie have managed to maintain the peace between them and build a relationship.
