BUZZ: Blink-182 to Reunite and Perform at Coachella After Travis Barker's Surgery

Blink-182 is proving that even hand surgery can’t keep them from performing. The punk rock group, originally comprised of Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus, and Tom DeLonge, is making a surprise early comeback at the Coachella music festival on Friday. The surprise addition to the six-day California event was announced via Instagram Wednesday with a photo of the updated schedule.

The performance comes two months after the band proposed their tour for Travis Barker’s surgery. Barker injured his left ring finger while rehearsing in February, and underwent surgery later that same month.

The Grammy nominees were initially set to reunite for a world tour on March 11, but their plans were delayed due to Barker’s injury. The tour kicks off May 4 in St. Paul, Minn., with ensuing performances in cities throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The reunion will mark the first time since 2014 that the trio have performed together since guitarist DeLonge, 47, left the band to form Angels & Airwaves in 2015. Bassist Mark Hoppus and Barker continued making music with Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, even amid Hoppus’ 2021 skin cancer battle.

Blink-182 is proving that even hand surgery can’t keep them from performing. They are sure to put on an amazing show at Coachella and beyond!
