BUZZ: Christina Hall reflects on ‘unnecessary’ Ant Anstead custody battle on Mother’s Day

Christina Hall celebrated Mother’s Day by reflecting on her “unnecessary” custody battle with ex-husband Ant Anstead.

“Crazy how much life can change in a year. Last Mother’s Day I was in a very bad place,” the “Flip or Flop” alum, 39, wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption on Sunday.

“Going through an extremely unnecessary custody battle, family issues, dealing with a health scare- amongst other things,” she continued.

“During all this we were momentarily displaced and in the process of moving into a temporary rental.”

Hall, whose message was accompanied with a sweet selfie with her children, then mentioned that she got emotional over an “amazing care package” given to her by the owner of their rental property.

“gifts for the kids, my fav champagne and a sweet note… at the time I was having the worst month so all of this meant SO much to me,” she recalled. “I started crying when I saw it, and I didn’t want to upset anyone so I quickly went to hide in the first room I saw (the laundry room).”

Later, Hall — who admitted she is “usually never vulnerable” — had a conversation with the landlord, who told her she “understood and what her and her blended family had gone through (similar situation to me).”

The mom of three said “it felt so good” to chat with someone who related to her pain.

“When I think of this now it still makes my eyes water. What a gift from God that moment was. No one I knew could understand what I was going through so to meet someone who got it and who could talk me through it truly was life changing,” she wrote.

“Shortly after that things turned around and fell into place.”

Hall ended her message by saying she’s “made mistakes,” but is aware that she has also “done right” as a parent.

“I know with all my heart my kids love me… and I know I’m a good mom…. life is crazy but being a mama makes it all worth it. Alllll of it,” she concluded. “Happy Mother’s Day, no matter where you are in life or what’s happening stay positive- It can all change in a year! ❤️.”

Hall and Anstead settled their custody battle over their 3-year-old son, Hudson, in December 2022.

The former couple agreed to “continue to have joint legal and joint physical custody” — as originally agreed in June 2021 — according to November 2022 court records obtained by People.

The exes, who split in 2020 and finalized their divorce the following year, agreed on a holiday schedule with “exceptions” to their initial arrangement.

Hall gave birth to Hudson in September 2019. The reality star – who married Josh Hall in April 2022 – is also the mother of daughter Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa.

Anstead, 44, has been dating Renée Zellweger since 2021. Meanwhile, El Moussa, 41, is now married to “Selling Sunset” star Heather Rae Young, with whom he shares 3-month-old son Tristan Jay.
