BUZZ: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos’ home raided by fire department after 2 a.m. ‘incident’

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were jolted awake at 2 a.m. Tuesday night when several fire alarms went off, prompting firefighters to show up at the couple’s home.

“Good morning guys, we’re a little tired, we did not get a lot of rest,” Ripa said on Wednesday’s “Live with Kelly and Mark.”

“Last night we had an incident – I’m not gonna name names, but the fire department came.”

Ripa joked that it was not her husband’s fault, but they still had at least two different fire alarms screeching – one blaring “fire, fire” and another making a high-pitched beeping sound.

The lovebirds explained that the problem stemmed from not knowing the passwords to their alarms.

“I’m trying to get it to turn off, [but] I don’t remember the code,” Consuelos, 52, admitted.

After talking to one of the alarm operators on the phone and still not remembering the code, the fire department showed up.

“So I’m trying to get it off, and the guys come in, and they’re, guys,” Consuelos said, while Ripa, also 52, added that they were “real men.”

The couple’s 21-year-old daughter Lola was taking photos and videos of the entire ordeal, and one photo showed Consuelos wearing shorts and a T-shirt as he and his 20-year-old son, Joaquin, stood “trying to look brave in front of New York City’s bravest.”

Despite still not knowing the code, the firefighters were able to turn off all the alarms except for one.

“[The fire captain] gets up there, turns it, pulls it out, it stops – thankfully it stops – he looks at it he goes, ‘it expired April 2023,’” Consuelos said.

Ripa joked that she was unable to see the printed expiration date, but she trusted that the man was correct and the house became quiet once again.

“And then you sort of see the disappointment on the faces of everyone,” Ripa said while laughing. “We feel like we’ve let them down, because there is no fire, there’s not even smoke.”

The couple explained that they wish they would’ve made them something as a thank you, but “they clearly wanted to leave” after there was no fire.

The morning show duo still had a sleepless night, though, since they had trouble falling back asleep after such an exciting ordeal.

“It was that kind of night, it was really that kinda night,” Ripa concluded, while her hubby reminded her that it’s a “new day” and “beautiful out.”

Consuelos, who also shares 25-year-old son Michael with Ripa, joined the show after Ryan Seacrest departed the hit ABC show last month.

“Live with Kelly and Mark” airs weekdays at 9 a.m. ET.
