Nia Long is continuing to take the high road after her ex-fiancé, Ime Udoka, had an affair while they were engaged. On Saturday, she shared a quote on Instagram that read, “The best revenge, is no revenge, Move on. Be happy.” The post was met with praise from several stars in the comments section.
Long’s post comes months after Udoka was fired from the Boston Celtics for having an inappropriate relationship with a female staffer. In September of last year, he issued a statement apologizing to his family and team for “letting them down.” That December, a rep confirmed to People that Long had called it quits with Udoka after more than 12 years of dating.
The affair news left their son, Kez, “devastated” according to Long. She told the Hollywood Reporter that he still has moments where it’s not easy for him. Long is also a mom to son Massai from a previous relationship.
Long and Udoka began dating in 2010 and got engaged in 2015. Despite the difficult situation, Long is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life. She is setting an example for her sons by taking the high road and not seeking revenge.
