Nick Viall recently revealed on Taylor Lautner and wife Tay Lautner’s podcast “The Squeeze” that he checked Natalie Joy’s ID to make sure she was of legal age before agreeing to date her. Viall and Joy, who have an 18-year age gap, started messaging and eventually met in New York City.
Viall admitted that he was “self-conscious” about the age gap and “wanted to get to know [Joy] better” before taking their relationship to the next level. Joy recalled that Viall had turned down her proposition to be in a relationship “so many times” but she was confident he would come around.
The couple was first romantically linked back in 2020 and went Instagram-official in January 2021. Despite this, Joy received “DMs of mean comments” calling her a “child bride” and other “terrible, terrible things.”
In January 2021, Viall proposed to Joy with a sparkler and a video confession of his love for her. He said in the video, “I can’t wait to start a family with you. It’s unreal to me that you get to be the mother of my children. I love you.”
The couple is still going strong and is looking forward to their future together.
