Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis are hoping to have a lawsuit filed by their former nanny, Ericka Genaro, moved to a private arbitrator. Genaro had made bombshell claims about the now exes’ split in an interview with the Daily Mail. The couple has stated that it is “unfortunate that this private matter continues to play out in the press” and that their “focus has been and will continue to be to steadfastly protect our family in the face of harassment of any kind.”

In documents obtained by Page Six, the now exes claim Genaro’s wrongful termination lawsuit was improperly filed in California as a civil suit when it should have been filed in New York. They are hoping to get the California lawsuit dismissed altogether so they can properly hash things out in a private arbitration out east.

Genaro had worked for the couple from 2018 until 2021 and claimed that they fired her after she requested to take a three-day “stress leave” due to their crumbling relationship. She alleged that, once Wilde moved out, she suffered increased stress and anxiety due to how much more time she had to spend with their children in her absence. The couple, however, claims that Genaro was never actually fired and that she resigned and even offered to help them out for an extra five months. They also allege that Genaro threatened to “dish” to the media about her time as their nanny, which she ultimately ended up doing.

Genaro is suing for punitive damages, attorney’s fees and cost of the lawsuit. However, Wilde and Sudeikis claim it was a breach of contract to offer up interviews and talk about their personal lives to the press. They are confident that the evidence brought forward will affirm their position to summarily dismiss this case and bring their family peace.
