BUZZ: Possible suspect identified in Lily Collins jewelry theft

BUZZ: Possible suspect identified in Lily Collins jewelry theft

Things have gone a little “Nancy Drew’s Mystery in West Hollywood.”

TMZ reported Monday that Lily Collins visited the luxury spa at the Edition Hotel on Sunset Boulevard over the weekend, locking up her engagement and wedding rings before enjoying the facilities.

The site says that when she wrapped up her relaxing session, she returned to find her baubles had disappeared.

Now Page Six hears that a ragtag band of amateur sleuths comprised of the star’s pals, hotel insiders, random guests and various other intrigued parties have pinpointed a suspect.

While there’s much (it has to be said, somewhat gleeful) speculation about “inside jobs” and lurking figures, sources tell us that hotel insiders say that a woman had been spotted at the spa several times in the days before the apparent theft, prompting staff to look her up in the registration system to see if she knew anything about the absent bling.

But when they tried calling the number on file, it was disconnected. Very suspicious! They now assume she had checked in under a fake name.

We hear there’s CCTV of the woman, but cops have yet to ID her.

Sources told TMZ that LA County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating, and that “there was no sign of forced entry where Lily stored her belongings.”

They say the missing goods are worth more than $10,000.

Director Charlie McDowell gave the “Emily In Paris” star the unusual engagement ring, which was custom designed by Irene Neuwirth, in September 2020. The yellow gold ring holds a diamond around the stone’s equator, meaning that admirers can gaze straight through the rock and see Collins’s finger underneath.

Diamond expert Maxwell Stone on Monday estimated the ring, which is made with an “ultra-rare” light pink rock of about two- to three-carats, to be worth around $90,000.

The couple married in September 2021 in Dutton Hot Springs, Colorado.

The “Emily in Paris” star dated McDowell for over a year before they became engaged in September 2020.

Reps for the hotel and Collins didn’t get back to us.
