Meghan Markle’s Joy in Revealing Daughter Lilibet’s Voice

Meghan Markle gushes as she reveals daughter Lilibet has 'found her voice'

Meghan Markle wrapped up her visit to Colombia alongside Prince Harry by speaking at an Afro Women and Power event in Cali.

During the event, she shared insights on nurturing her three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, to find her own voice, inspired by the way her mother, Doria Ragland, supported her.

“I find inspiration in so many of the strong women that are around me, of course, my mother being one of them,” stated Markle.

She emphasized moving through life with love, kindness, and generosity rather than a combative approach.

Markle stressed the significance of seeing women in influential roles to inspire others to make a difference, no matter how small.

“Part of the role modeling that I certainly try to do as a mother is to encourage our daughter – who, at 3, she has found her voice,” shared Meghan.

“And we’re so proud of that because that is how we, as I was saying, create the conditions in which there’s a ripple effect of young girls and young women knowing that if someone else is encouraging them to use their voice and be heard, that’s what they’re going to do. And they’re going to create a different environment than so many of us grew up in.”

Meghan’s Spanish Introduction

Colombian Vice President Francia Marquez, who hosted the event, joined Markle on the panel, where Meghan opened her remarks in Spanish.

“Because we are in your country my husband and I can feel this embrace from Colombia – it’s incredible,” expressed Meghan.

“The culture, the history – all of it was a dream – this trip was a dream. I can feel this community and this is the feeling that is the best thing right now.”

Meghan explained that empowering women and girls is the driving force behind the Archewell Foundation she and Prince Harry established post their move to California in July 2020.

“I was very, very fortunate at a young age to feel as though my voice was being heard, and I think that is a luxury that a lot of young girls and women aren’t often afforded,” shared Markle.

“For us and the work that we do with the Archewell Foundation, certainly the work that we do as parents and that I do as a mother, is ensuring that young girls feel as though their voices are being heard and also that young boys are being raised to listen and to hear those young women as well.”
