Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” movie isn’t even out yet and we’ve already tracked down Ken’s rollerblades and Eva Mendes’s Ryan Gosling Barbie shirt. As the original material girl living in a material world, Barbie knows what to shop for when it comes to clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and even home decor — after all, the Barbie Dreamhouse didn’t furnish itself.
Ahead of the movie’s premiere, Mattel has unveiled an entire collection of Barbie merch, including sweatshirts, bucket hats, Kencore T-shirts, hoodies, and more. Forever 21 also released an official merchandise collection inspired by the multihyphenate. The line includes bedazzled baby tees, co-ord sets, sequin jerseys, shorts, sweats, tube tops, beaded friendship bracelets, and even jelly sandals if you really want to let your inner child bask in the fluorescent pink trend. One Etsy shop also released a “From Director Greta Gerwig” T-shirt that makes the fictional Barbie world feel that much more real.
We’d like to think Barbara would have a “what’s mine is yours” policy when it comes to her closet, and it seems like all of the Barbie merch available so far could be straight from her personal style catalogue.
