Exploring the Links Between Lottie, Her Cult, and the Symbol in the Woods in "Yellowjackets"

The hit show “Yellowjackets” is full of mysteries surrounding the group of survivors from the plane crash in 1996 and their adult counterparts in the present day. There are many questions to be answered, such as the looming threat of cannibalism, the fate of Shauna’s baby, and the cult that Lottie, the Antler Queen in the 1996 timeline, appears to be running in the present day. In this article, we will explore what we know about the cult and its mysterious symbol.

In the season one finale, Nat was kidnapped by members of the cult and taken to a compound in the middle of nowhere. She managed to escape and witnessed Lottie performing a ritual with some of the people gathered there. It is also speculated that adult Travis, who died during season one, has a connection to the cult. In the first episode of season two, we see that Lottie was able to help Travis cope with his anxiety in 1996.

The symbol or rune that appears throughout the show is also connected to the cult. It is on postcards sent to the adult Yellowjackets, jewelry worn by cult members, and was present at Travis’s death site. The survivors first saw it carved in a tree near their cabin refuge, and it is also carved into the floor of the attic. The symbol resembles a stick figure of a girl impaled on a hook and flipped upside down. Its meaning remains a mystery, but fans have many theories.

New episodes of “Yellowjackets” premiere on Fridays on streaming and Sundays on Showtime. We can’t wait to learn more about the cult and its symbol!
