Ryan Black, a 32-year-old third-generation farmer from Shelby, North Carolina, is one of four cowboys featured in the dating experiment “Farmer Wants a Wife.” Black attended the University of North Carolina – Charlotte and now specializes in horses, running his own ranch called Blackstone Ranch & Stables in Gaston County, North Carolina. The ranch offers horseback riding lessons, access to the ranch’s own arena and nature trails, and stables as boarding homes for other people’s horses. In addition to his work with horses, Black has also dabbled in real estate by flipping houses. In 2020, he posted photos of one of the homes he flipped and put on the market in Union, South Carolina. One of the contestants on “Farmer Wants a Wife” described Black as having a “calming presence” when with his horses.
