Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on “Full House,” made headlines in 2019 for her involvement in a college admissions scandal involving her two teen daughters. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their two girls into the University of Southern California as fake crew team recruits. Throughout this messy scandal, both Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure publicly supported her and stood by her side.
Sweetin and Bure made an appearance on the “The Today Show” in April of 2019, and Bure was asked by Hoda Kotb how she felt about the scandal and Loughlin. “It’s too personal to us and we would never want to talk about someone that’s such a dear and close friend. I’ve already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we’ll always be there for each other,” Bure stated.
While Sweetin didn’t say anything quite audible, she did nod her head in agreement with Bure, chiming in with a “yes” a few times. Bure even appeared to support Loughlin publicly, a month prior to the “Today Show” appearance, at the “Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.” During an acceptance speech, Bure noted that “a loving family sticks together no matter what” (via Us Magazine). We love that.
