Are you ready to get up close and personal with a 13-foot-tall person? Prime Video’s new coming-of-age series, “I’m a Virgo,” starring Jharrel Jerome, will give you the chance. The Emmy winner plays Cootie, a giant young Black man in Oakland, CA, who has been hidden away from the world due to his size. But he eventually sets out on an adventure to experience all that he has been missing.
The teaser trailer for the show, released on March 6, reveals that Cootie’s parents have kept him tucked away in their small home, worried that the world is not ready for someone like him. However, viewers will soon get to go on a “fantastical joyride” with Cootie as he embarks on his journey.
In an interview with Collider, “Sorry to Bother You” filmmaker Boots Riley, who created, wrote and executive produced the show, praised Jerome’s performance and said people will look at him differently after this project. Other cast members include Brett Gray from “On My Block” and comedian Mike Epps. Get ready for an exciting mythical odyssey with “I’m a Virgo”!
