Ke Huy Quan Attends Oscars With Indiana Jones Costar Harrison Ford

Ke Huy Quan had an incredible night at the 2023 Oscars on March 12, taking home the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. The movie also won six other awards, including Best Picture, and Quan was even more delighted when his old costar Harrison Ford presented the cast and crew with the biggest award of the night. The two shared an emotional and loving embrace on stage, a moment that was 38 years in the making.

Quan’s very first role was as Short Round in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”, and he followed that up with a part in “The Goonies” the next year. During his acceptance speech, he thanked his fellow “Goonies” star Jeff Cohen, who is now his entertainment lawyer. After his childhood roles, Quan moved away from acting and attended film school at the University of Southern California, eventually becoming a stunt coordinator. His role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once” marked his major return to acting.

In September 2022, Quan and Ford reunited for the first time in 38 years at D23 Expo. Ford was there to promote his return to Indiana Jones in that summer’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”, while Quan was promoting season two of “Loki”. Though it is unclear when (or if) they will have an onscreen reunion anytime soon, there is a lot of potential for them to work together again. Ford is now part of the MCU with roles in “Captain America: New World Order” and “Thunderbolts”, and he also appears on Apple TV+’s “Shrinking”. There is also always a chance for “Indiana Jones 6” and a return for Short Round, now an adult.
