If you’re a fan of country music, then you’ve likely heard about up-and-comer Megan Moroney. After her hit “Tennessee Orange” went viral, Moroney’s been garnering fans across the country — and the world.

On May 5, Moroney released her debut album, “Lucky.” The night before, she performed her very first opening performance for the Brooks & Dunn 2023 Reboot Tour in Kansas City, MO. Talk about a whirlwind. Thankfully, Spotify was there to capture what was going on behind the scenes and what this moment means to the 25-year-old rising star.

Watch the video, exclusively debuting on POPSUGAR, above. And keep reading to hear more from Moroney about this moment in her career, what fans don’t yet know about her, and more.

POPSUGAR: How were you feeling in the lead-up to the album release? And how do you feel now, having the album out in the world?

Megan Moroney: Before the album came out, I was excited, because I had been holding these songs so close to me for so long. Now that it is out, it’s been really cool to hear from my fans what their favorite songs are. I’m so happy it’s out!

PS: What’s been the most memorable moment of your tour with Brooks & Dunn so far?

“It is all so surreal.”

MM: I have a couple — my very first arena show was the first show with Brooks & Dunn. We were in Kansas City, and during my third song, all the power in the arena went out. So that was interesting, but we got through it. Another favorite moment was in Little Rock, when I heard everyone singing “Tennessee Orange” with me. That was the loudest crowd yet.

PS: In your video with Spotify, you talk openly about what it’s like for your career to be taking off. Are you still feeling in disbelief that this is your life right now?

MM: Definitely. It is all so surreal. I am just happy I get to write music that I love and that there are people that relate to it and are loving it, too.

PS: What’s something that fans might not know about you?

MM: I can recite the alphabet backwards, and I know it in sign language.

PS: What are you most excited for in the coming year?

MM: I am really excited about my fall headlining tour — I can’t wait to play the album live for my fans and visit some cities that I haven’t been to before!
