Martell Holt went through a tumultuous divorce from his wife, Melody Holt — all while the “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” cameras were rolling.
The story goes that Holt was involved in a seven-year-long extramarital affair with a woman named Arionne Curry. Eventually, however, Melody had enough and filed for divorce in 2020. “I was like, ‘He hasn’t changed at all or grown up. He’s figuring out how to do it better. He’s figuring out how to be deceptive better,’ and that’s when I made the decision to leave,” she revealed during the show’s Season 5 reunion.
According to Martell, however, he cheated out of retaliation because Melody was always rejecting him. “It seemed as if I had no other option but to be out,” he claimed during an appearance on the CheMinistry Rejection Panel at the 2022 Essence Festival. “The first time I met the particular person, it was the night my ex-wife was supposed to go with me to a barbecue. We got into it that night; she was on the computer, in the bed. And she made this statement to me. We got into it. She said, ‘Go out there and find you a girlfriend.'” Still, Holt admitted that having an affair was a mistake. “It was wrong for me to step out. I take that accountability,” :he acknowledged.
