It seems that the rift between the two men was over a lack ofanship with regards to their relationship – something that may have been due to more than just a lack of desire to marry her model husband. It’s now thought that DiCaprio may have been hesitant to take the next step in their relationship because he wasn’t really to settle down.
Leonardo DiCaprio dated model Bar Rafaeli from 2005 to 2011. It seemed that DiCaprio might finally take things to the next level and propose to Rafaeli, but his hesitancy to do so is allegedly part of why they parted ways. An unnamed source claimed the actor ended the relationship because he wasn’t really to settle down. “Leo was getting a lot of pressure from friends, family, and Bar to take the next step in their relationship and get married,” they told E! Online (via Today). “He wasn’t ready for that.”
They added, “Leo has been spending a lot of time with his boys. A few weeks ago he was partying in Cabo San Lucas with friends Lukas Haas, Bradley Cooper, and Cindy Crawford’s husband, Rande Gerber.” It seems that DiCaprio and Rafaeli had problems throughout their relationship because they briefly parted ways in 2009 before calling off the romance entirely. During an interview with British Vogue in 2010, the model reflected on how she spent her time apart from her then-boyfriend. “I worked on myself – I grew up,” Rafaeli shared. “I got my girlfriends back. From a very young age I have always had a boyfriend and I didn’t know what it was like to be inside my own skin. Today I know that a relationship can work only if you know you can be alone and you are not afraid. Now I’m not afraid of being alone.”
