While Cundy may have started out friendly and enjoyed a good chat with Meghan Markle, their friendship quickly crumbled following the. Meghan’s “Suits” actor husband Prince Harry. Cundy was excited about meeting Meghan and became good friends with her, only for the friendship to crumble following the start of Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle and British TV personality Lizzie Cundy were friends long before Meghan met Prince Harry. In a piece she wrote for Grazia titled “The Meghan I Knew,” Cundy detailed that they met in 2013 and became good pals, only for the friendship to crumble following the “Suits” actor’s involvement with the royal family.
Cundy dished that they met at a charity event and “got on like a house on fire instantly.” She said Meghan confided in her regarding her divorce from her previous husband and how she intended to relocate to England someday. She also noted that Meghan expressed her desire to be part of “Made In Chelsea,” a popular reality TV series — and perhaps even find herself an English lover. “I tried to find her a boyfriend,” Cundy wrote. “Ashley Cole wasn’t so keen, but I did try to fix her up, which is funny looking back.” Eventually, Meghan started dating Prince Harry, which Cundy was excited about. “I texted her to say how amazing it was and she did reply,” she added, but after Meghan and Prince Harry got engaged, she says everything changed. “Once the ring was on the finger, I soon realized she was off Twitter and that her number wasn’t working. And that was it. I’m afraid… I got ghosted.”
While Cundy initially said she “wasn’t in any way upset” about Meghan’s ghosting, she changed her tune in an interview with OK! “I always think she wanted that power and fame,” she claimed. “I just feel sad about it to be honest.”
