Following two consecutive explosions in Quyet Tien Hamlet, Tam Hop Commune, Nghe An, on August 30, Nguyen Dinh Tung, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quy Hop District, outlined the response plan.
The first explosion on August 27 resulted in the deaths of a couple, prompting investigations by district and provincial police to determine the cause.
After the incident, the deceased couple’s family cremated their bodies and returned the ashes to the explosion site. However, on August 29, during site cleanup, a second explosion occurred, injuring two men severely. The substances causing the explosions remain unidentified.
Upon the second explosion, district leaders, including officials from the Party Committee, People’s Committee, Military Command, and Police, took immediate action to manage the situation and reduce the impact.
To safeguard residents near the blast site, the People’s Committee cordoned off six adjacent houses and relocated residents to a safer area.
A formal request has been made to the Nghe An Provincial Military Command for bomb and mine clearance assistance to secure the area for investigators.
The latest report suggests that the health of the two injured individuals is improving.
