Moses Isah, a student of the Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, ATBU, has been declared missing.

The disappearance of the 200-level student of the Department of Chemistry was announced on the ATBU student’s Facebook group, ‘Voice of Balewites’, by his elder brother, Samson Isah.

The Facebook post urged anyone with information to call specific numbers.

The post reads: “I am Moses Isah’s elder brother. Pls anybody with any information of his whereabouts should pls call 07083340906 or 07039785845. He has been missing for the past 15 months. He is a student of ATBU.”

Speaking with DAILY POST, Isah said his brother had been missing for 15 months, adding that all efforts to locate him proved abortive.

According to him, he had filed a report at a Police Station but due to financial constraints, could not “follow up after the police started requesting for money”.

Moses was last seen at his lodge in Yelwa Tuldu.

When asked if the school management was aware of his brother’s disappearance, Isah said he approached a particular lecturer (name withheld) for assistance.

When contacted, the spokesman of the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakil, did not respond to messages and calls.

Speaking with DAILY POST, ATBU’s Director of Information, Zailani Bappa, said the university’s management has no record of any missing student, adding that it has limited knowledge of what goes on outside the institution’s premises.

Bappa, who wondered why the brother of the missing student took so long to announce the development, said, “Nobody has come to make any report to us that his brother is missing. We are not responsible for the safety of students staying off-campus but if the matter was reported to us, our duty is to report such matter to the Police.”
