Kevin Feige wants Avengers: Endgame and every other Marvel movie to inspire audiences.

In his role as President of Marvel Studios and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, Feige has appeared on panel discussions at various major events over the years including San Diego Comic-Con among others. He’s also given a number of interviews on films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for which he’s gained quite a following among fans.

Feige, the directors of the superhero movie Joe and Anthony Russo, as well as the cast, have all been discussing the movie since before it hit theaters in April 2019. Together, along with fans and critics alike, they’ve kept the conversation going which shows no signs of slowing down soon.

Marvel Studios continues to produce more superhero content  — both movies and TV shows — about beloved characters with Phase 4 quickly approaching. Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff or Black Widow is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2020, with The Eternals slated for release on Nov. 6, 2020.

Kevin Feige wants movies to ‘inspire the next generations of storytellers’

Feige wrapped up an incredible year for Marvel by attending a Q&A at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) on Dec. 28, 2019. He attended the NYFA’s Director of Industry Lecture Series and described how he managed to watch Avengers: Endgame when it premiered among fans at a local theater, according to Comicbook.

“I sat in the middle of a theater in Westwood opening night of Endgame which I had not done in years and watched the movie,” Feige said during the panel discussion. “It was maybe the most amazing experience of my entire life mainly because they liked it and we worked hard on it! Being amongst that experience is something that only movies can do.”

After recounting his movie-going experience, he shared what he hopes Avengers: Endgame and any other Marvel movie can do for viewers. He hopes the films will inspire future filmmakers.

“I love the idea that our movies can inspire the next generations of storytellers the way that my favorite movies inspired me,” he said. “I hope that’s how it has the effect.”

He continued, saying that he likes seeing people connecting with each other through films and the simple act of visiting a movie theater. “I also like the effect that it brings people to the movie theaters and reminds people of the communal experience of going to the movies,” Feige said.

2019 most certainly proved to be the year of Avengers: Endgame. And given what we know about the future of the MCU and Marvel Studios, 2020 may not only continue that winning streak but lay the foundation for box office dominance for years to come.
