‘Black Panther’ Chadwick Boseman Shocks Concerned Marvel Fans Even Further By Using a Walking Stick

Concerns about Chadwick Boseman’s health just got worse after the Black Panther star was spotted with a walking stick. Boseman, who plays T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has lost a shocking amount of weight in recent months. And fans are even more worried about the actor’s health after he used a walking stick in public.

Chadwick Boseman looks frail in Instagram video

Boseman’s weight loss scandal heated up when the actor posted a video of himself looking super frail in April. The actor shared the clip to promote his new initiative, Operation 42, which donated millions of dollars in PPE to hospitals.

Marvel fans are used to seeing Boseman as the buff superhero in the MCU and were understandably shocked by his drastic transformation. The video only showed Boseman’s face, but it was clear that the actor has shed some serious weight.

“I hope your okay, your appearance has changed,” a fan noted.

“Dude, I’m all in for this, but please reassure your fan base about your health ’cause even I am starting to be kinda worried,” another follower added.

Chadwick Boseman is not set to appear in Black Panther 2 until 2022. Filming for the project, however, will likely get underway next year. That gives Boseman plenty of time to bulk up for the part, but that has not stopped fans from worrying about his overall health — and his latest public appearance hasn’t helped the situation.

Over the years, Boseman has appeared in four movies in the MCU, including Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Boseman sparks worry in latest public outing

At the end of April, Boseman was seen outside of his home in Los Angeles alongside his mother, Carolyn. The actor wore a face covering for the outing and looked almost unrecognizable after losing so much weight.

According to Hollywood Life, what was even more shocking was the fact that Boseman had a walking stick for the casual outing. Using a walking stick is not a big deal, but people normally take them on hikes for a walking aid, not on an outing in the city.

Fans have expressed concern about Boseman’s health for a few months. It all started back in November when Boseman posted a video of himself on Instagram ahead of the American Music Awards.

“De strength of de pantha’ has been stripped away,” one fan wrote at the time, while another posted, “What happen bro  Your body too….Now you’re too slim build a strong body bro we need that.”

Boseman has not said anything about his drastic weight loss. His most recent role was for a television show titled The Black Child, though it sounds like his transformation may have been for an entirely different role.

Is this why Chadwick Boseman lost so much weight?

Actors gain and lose weight for movie roles all the time, so it is possible that Boseman’s transformation is for a project. Although the actor has not talked about losing weight, his change of appearance could be related to his new project with Spike Lee.

According to Screen Rant, the actor will appear as a Vietnam veteran in the upcoming film Da 5 Bloods, which tells the story of four African American vets who return to the country in search of buried treasure.

We do not know for sure if Boseman lost the weight for the role. His other project, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, is unlikely to be the culprit as it focuses on a band in the 1920s. That said, Boseman could be working on a secret project that has yet to be announced, so fans will have to stay tuned to find out what is really going on.

Whatever the reason, it is a safe bet that Boseman will be gaining weight in the near future. With filming for Black Panther 2 less than a year out, Chadwick Boseman will need to start bulking up for the superhero film. We can only hope that he lost the weight with the help of experts.

Black Panther 2 will hit theaters on May 6, 2022.
