Charly Boy, the renowned Nigerian singer and activist, has recently announced his plans to join the ongoing protests in response to the February 25 presidential elections. Supporters of the Labour Party and its candidate, Peter Obi, have been demonstrating in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, demanding the cancelation of the election that saw Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the president-elect. The Obidients, as they are known, have accused the ruling party of manipulating the results.
On Wednesday, Charly Boy took to Twitter to express his admiration for the protesters and declared his intention to join them in their peaceful rally. He wrote, “I am truly inspired by the Obidient Youths and the brave lovers of Naija. We all know how much can be accomplished when we work together or stand together. Soon I will be joining my courageous youths to take our peaceful rally to the next level”.
