INEC has provided an explanation for the glitches encountered with its IReV result viewing portal during the recent presidential election. Festus Okoye, INEC national commissioner, spoke on Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’ to explain what happened on February 25. He stated that the commission had not anticipated these issues and had made efforts to rectify them for future elections. The IReV portal was introduced to improve the transparency of the electoral process, and it was promised that polling unit results would be uploaded to it in real time. Despite this, the portal remained inactive even after voting had ended in some polling units.
