The Amotekun Corps in Ogun State has apprehended a 30-year-old man, Daniel Chigozie, for allegedly selling his 9-month-old son, Daniel Chinonye Darlington, to three different buyers. Commandant of the Corps, David Akinremi, stated that the suspect was paid varying amounts of money between August 2022 and February 2023. An investigation conducted by the Corps uncovered that the suspect had devised a way to retrieve the child from each of the buyers until he sold him to the last buyer, Dr.Nosa, in Apapa. The suspect, who resides in Abela, Sango-Ota, Ado-Odo Local Government Area of the state, confessed to the crime and is being profiled by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and prosecution.
