Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Expresses Concern Over Attack on Lagos State House of Assembly Candidate Olumide Oworu and His Team, Citing Governor Sanwo-Olu's Silence

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s candidate for Governor of Lagos State, has urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to take action against those responsible for the attack on the party’s House of Assembly candidate, Olumide Oworu, and his team. The thugs reportedly stabbed some of them and stole their belongings as they were about to start their rally on March 16 in Surulere. Olumide Oworu is running against the APC candidate Desmond Elliot for the state House of Assembly seat in Surulere.

In response to the attack, GRV stated: “I strongly condemn the attacks on Olumide and his team. I have repeatedly asked Governor @jidesanwoolu to take control of his supporters. His silence implies that he approves of the violence. Make no mistake, we will win on Saturday, and those responsible for this violence will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
