The Congress of Civil Society Groups in Abia State has issued a warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take action and prevent a potential crisis in the state. At a press conference in Umuahia on Monday, the group’s State Coordinator, Damian Ogudike, expressed concern that the Returning Officer, Resident Electoral Commissioner, and other INEC officials are being pressured to manipulate the results of the upcoming election in Obingwa LGA. Ogudike further noted that tensions have been rising among the youth of the state, who are determined not to let their votes be stolen. He warned that those who are attempting to take power by any means necessary should be aware that times have changed.
