Katsina Police Successfully Repel Terrorist Attack, One Terrorist Killed

On Monday, March 27, 2023, the Katsina State Police Command was able to repel a terrorist attack at Kesassa village in Danmusa Local Government Area. During the encounter, one terrorist was killed and an AK-47 rifle with 22 rounds of 7.62MM live ammunition was recovered. SP Gambo Isah, spokesperson of the command, confirmed the incident in a statement. The police had received a distress call that the terrorists were blocking Danmusa – Yantumaki Road and shooting indiscriminately. After engaging the hoodlums in a gun duel, they were successfully repelled. It is believed that many of the terrorists were neutralized or escaped with gunshot wounds. Search parties are currently combing the nearby bushes in an attempt to arrest them or recover their bodies. The Command has asked members of the local community to report any person found or seen with a suspected injury to the nearest police station. They also expressed appreciation for the courage, gallantry, and professionalism displayed by the police in dealing with the hoodlums.
