Nigerians have come out in support of Labour Party deputy Governorship candidate, Princess Islamiyat Oyefusi after investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo shared a photo of the politician smoking and questioned her leadership skills. Many took to the comment section to defend Princess Islamiyat, arguing that one’s past does not make them unfit for leadership roles. One user wrote, “I don’t know who this is but Obama smoked marijuana in his past.” Another commented, “If you’re without blemish, cast the first stone.” One user stated, “It’s very glaring you are an anti-LP. Keep showcasing how shallow your mind is with all these antagonist behaviours. Shame!” Another wrote, “In my opinion there is nothing wrong with shisha. Moreover that must have been years back and not recently. LP from too to bottom. Someone’s social behavior has nothing to do with their governance skills.” It is clear that Nigerians are standing up for Princess Islamiyat and her past does not define her ability to lead.
