Kylian Mbappe Becomes Youngest Ever France Captain at Age 24

After much deliberation, Didier Deschamps has reportedly chosen Kylian Mbappe to be the new captain of the French national team. The 24-year-old superstar has had an impressive career, having helped France win the 2018 World Cup and almost follow-up it up with a second world title in Qatar last year. He has scored 36 goals in 66 international appearances and has been named France’s best player of the season on four separate occasions. If chosen, Mbappe would join Norway’s 24-year-old Martin Odegaard as one of the youngest captains in Europe. He is set to join his teammates at their headquarters in Clairefontaine on Sunday ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against the Netherlands and Ireland.
