Lagos Governorship Aspirant of Imo Labour Party Found Dead in Home

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Humphrey Anumudu, a Labour Party governorship aspirant in the upcoming Imo State primary election. He was found dead in his Lagos home on Friday evening, shortly after returning from a meeting at the LP secretariat in Abuja.

Anumudu was a native of Mbieri Ancient Kingdom in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State and a multi-billionaire businessman and politician. He had been running for the governorship seat since 1998, and was the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party primary that same year before the ticket was given to Achike Udenwa. In 2019, he was the Zenith Labour party governorship candidate.

Anumudu was also a respected legal luminary and the Chief Executive Officer of Globe Motors. His death came as a shock to family and friends, who spoke to The PUNCH on condition of anonymity. We offer our condolences to those affected by this tragedy.
