Ogun Police Arrest 43-Year-Old Man for Alleged Incestuous Pregnancy of 19-Year-Old Biological Daughter

On March 24, police officers from the Ogun State Command apprehended 43-year-old Abiodun Oladapo for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld). The arrest was prompted by a complaint filed at the Mowe divisional headquarters by Oluwatoyin Idowu, who claimed that her son Michael Idowu had been wrongfully accused of impregnating the victim. After questioning her son, Idowu learned that the victim was not telling the truth.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that when the five-month pregnant victim was invited to the station, she revealed that it was her father, Abiodun Oladapo, who was responsible for her pregnancy. She further explained that he had been sleeping with her since February 2022 and had threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

The DPO of Mowe division, SP Folake Afeniforo, then dispatched detectives to apprehend the suspect. Upon interrogation, he confessed to the crime and blamed it on the devil. Preliminary investigation revealed that Oladapo had taken custody of the victim when her mother remarried and they had been living together since then.

CP Frank Mba, the state Commissioner of Police, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.
