Peter Obi Responds to Nasarawa Women's Nude Protest of Election

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has spoken out in response to the protests from women in Nasarawa State over the outcome of the March 18 governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Abdullahi Sule, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the gubernatorial election, which sparked an outcry from the women. In a video, some of the women wore black while protesting and others stripped completely n3ked to express their displeasure.

In response to this, Obi took to Twitter to express his sadness at the situation and to reiterate his commitment to having 40% of women in his administration. He stated that people’s mandate must not be stolen from them, and that women should be respected and honoured. He also encouraged the same affirmative action for women in the corporate world.
