Today, March 18, Nigerian content creator Sisi Yemmie and her husband were denied the right to exercise their franchise. The couple had gone to their polling unit at Awoyaya, Lagos State, only to be told that they could not enter the premises because they looked like Igbos. In a video she shared, Sisi Yemmie stated that she was born in Lagos State, but the people at the gate said that this did not mean she was an indigene of the state. She also posted a tweet about the incident, saying that they were asked if they were going to vote for the APC, and when she said she wanted to enter first, the gate was locked.
