‘The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart’ Trailer Dropped and Fans Are Still Haunted by Jed Wyatt

At the start of Peter Weber’s season, The Bachelor franchise announced a new music-driven spinoff called Listen to Your Heart. Now, as viewers approach the conclusion of Weber’s journey, ABC unveiled The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart trailer. However, the promo wasn’t exactly what some viewers had previously hoped, especially since so many fans were reminded of Jed Wyatt from Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette

ABC debuts the ‘Listen to Your Heart’ promo trailer during ‘The Bachelor’ Season 24 Episode 8

On Monday, Feb. 17, ABC dropped the Listen to Your Heart promo trailer during The Bachelor Season 24. For the most part, the preview seems to turn the new reality series into the musical version of Bachelor in Paradise. However, the cast isn’t filled with Bachelor Nation fan-favorites, but newcomers.

“20 single men and women, one shared dream,” the narrator says as “Listen to Your Heart” by Roxette plays dramatically in the background. Then as flashes of men and women arrive at The Bachelor mansion, Chris Harrison greets them. “Music is a great gateway to the heart,” the host says. “Let the journey begin.”

As the trailer continues, the cast members sing and dance onstage. “Could love and music make the perfect duet?” the narrator says. And then in one clip, JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers are shown praising a pair of performers.

But remember, this is The Bachelor franchise. There’s drama ahead. The narrator questions whether the contestants will “leave as solo acts.” Then right on cue, the promo flashes glimpses of a woman crying, a man in frustration, and someone smashing a guitar. The preview concludes with The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart release date on Monday, April 13, on ABC.

‘The Bachelor’ fans react to the ‘Listen to Your Heart’ trailer

As The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart promo trailer dropped, viewers reacted to the new series on social media. Though it seems most fans weren’t sold on the franchise’s latest endeavor.

“Bachelor listen to your heart is not the spin off I asked for #TheBachelor,” a fan wrote on Twitter.

“No thank you @BachelorABC,” another fan tweeted. “you can keep ‘Listen To Your Heart,’ we don’t want it.”

Other fans brought up Wyatt from Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. For those of you who don’t remember, Wyatt was the winner of Brown’s season. He wrote the 25-year-old love songs and performed them on the show, even whipping out his guitar for the big proposal.

After filming, Wyatt’s ex-girlfriend — before The Bachelorette — revealed details about their breakup. The singer was accused of going on the ABC reality series for the “wrong reasons” — for his music career as opposed to love. Later, Brown and Wyatt split. And ultimately, all of Wyatt’s previous actions on The Bachelorette were tarnished, suddenly appearing disingenuous.

So naturally, as The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart previewed its first trailer, fans were reminded of the ghost of Wyatt’s Bachelorette past.

“I feel as if ABC created the new Bachelor spinoff ‘Listen to your heart’ in spite of Jed. God bless them,” a fan wrote.

Meanwhile, some Bachelor Nation fans poked fun at the timing of the new series.

“Too bad Jed Wyatt didn’t wait for his tv debut,” a fan tweeted. “Bachelor: Listen To Your Heart would’ve been IT!”

“Y’all know who’s KICKING himself right now, watching this The Bachelor: Listen To You Heart promo?” another fan wrote attached to a photo of Wyatt.

For now, it appears The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart has nothing to do with Wyatt. Of course, any Bachelor Nation alum could appear as a guest — like Fletcher and Rodgers in the preview. However, the premise of the show isn’t based on old contestants.

According to Deadline, the new show is like “Bachelor in Paradise meets A Star Is Born.” The publication revealed each couple will “commit” and be “tested through musical challenges, including live performances judged by top names in the music business.” Then in the end, only one couple is crowned the winner.

“This is an evolution of The Bachelor franchise ABC Entertainment,” President, Karey Burke, told Deadline in January. “It is an attempt to capture what we all know, which is that love and emotion and music are intertwined.”

Meanwhile, when speaking with Entertainment Tonight in January, Harrison joked Wyatt should make an appearance.

“Jed is the obvious [choice],” the host said when discussing possible Bachelor Nation alum cameos on Listen to Your Heart.

Then in an interview with Us Weekly, Harrison revealed he wants to see Brown’s ex in the new reality series as a form of redeption.

“I think [Wyatt] needs a chance to maybe redeem himself, musically and emotionally. I think he bombed on both,” Harrison said. “It was a tragic ending to his story on so many levels.”

Even so, it seems unlikely Wyatt will show up as a contestant on The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart. According to his Instagram, the former Bachelorette contestant is in a relationship. So unless history is about to repeat itself, Wyatt won’t be on the show for anything more than a guest spot.
