Harry Styles has been open about the possibility of a One Direction reunion. Despite rumors of a reunion on James Corden’s final episode of “The Late Late Show,” the show quickly shut down speculation. Styles opened up about the possibility during the “Spill Your Guts or Eat Your Guts” segment, saying he would never say never to the idea. The boyband, consisting of Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik, announced they were going on “hiatus” in 2015. Corden, a longtime fan and supporter of One Direction, often invited some members of the band to appear on his “Carpool Karaoke” segment. Earlier this month, it was reported that the boyband would reunite on the final episode of Corden’s late-night run. However, the show quickly shut down speculation on its official Twitter account.
Corden announced his departure from “The Late Late Show” in April 2022, just before renewing his contract for an eighth and final year. His final “Carpool Karaoke” segment featured global phenomenon Adele, who was in the driver’s seat this time around. During the 21-minute-long segment, the pair gushed over their decade-long friendship before the singer revealed why she would never become an EGOT winner.
Though One Direction has yet to reunite, all members have gone on to pursue solo careers. Harry Styles is a 3-time Grammy winner and has had weeklong stints as a guest on “The Late Late Show” during his solo career. He has also been a guest host of the show in Corden’s absence.
