Taylor Jenkins Reid Discusses Possibility of Season 2 for "Daisy Jones & The Six"

Viewers of the Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book “Daisy Jones & The Six” have noticed the many changes made to the original story. While some of these alterations, such as Simone’s increased role, were welcomed, others, like the kiss between Billy and Daisy, were met with mixed reviews. Despite this, the changes may have opened the door for a potential second season of the show, which would be a departure from the book’s neat conclusion.

In an interview with Variety, Reid said she was content with the direction Amazon took with her novel, noting that she never expected the series to be a one-to-one copy. She also stated that her only requirement when handing over the rights to her story was that Daisy and Camila would not be in competition with each other.

The book ends with the characters in their mid-60s, but the show’s documentary is set 20 years after the band’s rise to fame in the ’70s, leaving room for more story. When asked about the possibility of a season two, Reid said she would only consider it if there was a story to tell and expressed her admiration for Riley Keough and Sam Claflin’s performances. She also noted that Fleetwood Mac’s frontmen Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham’s real-life relationship could provide endless possibilities for the show.
