4-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot by 3-Year-Old Sister with Unsecured Gun

On Sunday, March 12, a 3-year-old girl in Texas shot and killed her 4-year-old sister with an unsecured weapon. The two toddlers had been left unsupervised in a bedroom of a Houston apartment while five adults were gathered with family and friends. The children found a loaded semi-automatic pistol, and after a single gunshot, the injured child was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been announced yet, but Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of Harris County said they were “very likely” in this case.
