When celebrity relationships go south, it’s almost always sad. Actors Ashley Benson (best known for Pretty Little Liars) and Cara Delevingne (who recently starred in Amazon’s Carnival Row) have reportedly called it quits. Despite being seen together out in public prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it looks like these two are no longer an item.
According to sources quoted by People Magazine, the two had their “ups and downs” and “the relationship just ran its course.” While that doesn’t sound like a messy breakup, it does pose the question: Where are the two living right now?
Delevingne and Benson first went public with their relationship in 2019
Benson and Delevingne met when they starred in the indie film Her Smell together, which was filmed two years ago, in spring 2018. They played Roxie Rotten and Crassie Cassie, respectively, members of the band Akergirls. In the film, their characters are in a relationship.
Apparently, their work bled into their personal lives. After many months of a rumored relationship, Delevingne confirmed that they were a real-life couple in June 2019, for Pride Month. At the time, she stated that they had been together for a little over a year.
They were quarantining together, posting videos with friends
Benson and Delevingne were seen together, both in public and on one another’s social media accounts, in the months that followed. They attended multiple fashion events and were photographed kissing at the U.S. Open in September 2019. Additionally, Delevingne creating an Instagram account for Benson’s dogs.
When shelter-in-place laws went into effect, Benson and Delevingne shared photos and videos of themselves goofing off with some of their actor friends, including Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Tommy Dorfman (13 Reasons Why).
Benson says she’s ‘bored at the house’
It was assumed that Benson and Delevingne were quarantined at their shared Hollywood Hills home, having moved in together in June 2019, according to Us Weekly. But now that they’ve broken up, where are they each living?
On May 5, 2020, ahead of the news breaking, Benson posted a set of selfies on Instagram, writing, “bored in the house.” She also shared a number of images to her Instagram Story, including one featuring the dog of one of her good friends, director Izak Rappaport. So we can assume she’s staying with him. But perhaps there’s somewhere else she’d like to be.
Benson moved to New York City after filming on Pretty Little Liars ended in 2016. Her apartment there has been featured in the likes of People Magazine. And it sounds like she’s eager to get back there. “I miss New York,” she wrote in another Instagram Story, over a paparazzi photo of herself.
What is Delevingne doing?
As for Delevingne, E! News reports that she’s “enjoying being single and spending time with great friends in quarantine.” She’s been posting frequently on social media, promoting her environmental initiative EcoResolution. A frequent attendee at the Met Gala in the past, she has also shared images of her best outfits, remarking, “Quite a stark contrast to the sweatpants I haven’t taken off in weeks.”
