He revealed that his new album Timeless is dedicated to those he has lost, including his mother who passed away when he was ten, his best friend, his bodyguard, and his son. The song “Legends Can Never Die” is a tribute to them and to everyone who has experienced the loss of someone close. Davido said, “I don’t want to feel like they have left me spiritually. I still have them around me in some way. They were all legends, so that’s why I say that a legend never dies.”
