Family of Ojuelegba Container Accident Victims Forced to Pay Millions for Return of Bodies Prior to Burial

Ijeoma, the sister of Pastor Emeka Okoli who was killed alongside his wife and two children in the Ojuelegba container accident, has spoken out about the injustice her family faced at the hands of the Lagos State Government. She claims that they were forced to pay millions of Naira before the corpses were released for burial. The funeral took place in their hometown in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Taking to Facebook after the ceremony, Ijeoma expressed her sorrow and anger at the situation. She wrote that her brother’s death opened her eyes to the “wickedness” of Nigeria’s leaders and how much suffering they caused her family. She went on to say that she wished all of them would suffer the same fate, and that God would punish them for the trauma they caused. She also lamented that if they had been in another country, her brother and his family would still be alive today. In conclusion, she said that she had never felt so pained in her life and expressed her sorrow at their passing.
