The Kano State Hisbah Board has taken steps to ensure the safety of lives and property during Ramadan by deploying personnel to mosques. According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Ibrahim Lawan, on Thursday, March 23, 2023, the Hisbah corps will be visiting mosques during Iftar, Tarawih, and Tahajjud prayers to protect worshippers and their property from any unpatriotic elements. The Commander-General of the board, Dr Harun Ibn-Sina also warned that those who engage in societal vices during this sacred month will be dealt with, and that youths who eat in public during fasting period will not be spared either. He also encouraged the general public to assist orphans and the needy by providing them with clothing, food items, grains, water and cash.
