Kanye West Responds To Drake’s Shade About His Music

The hip-hop scene is no stranger to feuds. Some of the more famous beef include the ones between Tupac and Biggie or Nas and Jay-Z. The feud between Kanye West and Drake has become one of the better know hip-hop beef. They sometimes seem to flip flop back and forth. But in the end it always comes down to conflict when it comes to these two. Now Drake is dishing out shade yet again. This time, he’s insulted West’s music.

This isn’t a new beef. The two rappers have been going at each other publicly since at least 2016, possibly earlier. The feud went public when West ranted about Drake on stage. West told fans that Drake and DJ Khaled had paid radio stations to play their song, “I’m On One.”

It’s true there were possible signs of a feud before this. Fans noticed some song lyrics of Drake’s that seemed to reference West. However, the 2016 San Pablo incident opened the floodgates. The two have basically been feuding ever since.

Drake says Kanye West brought his son into it

The fight got nasty when West brought Drake’s son into it. Up until that point, things had been relatively tame for a hip-hop beef.

In 2018, however, West produced a song by rapper Pusha T that hit Drake hard. Lyrics alleged that Drake doesn’t write his own music, and it also revealed Drake fathered a son with a former porn star.

In response, Drake dropped a track with lyrics that hinted at an intimate relationship between Drake and West’s wife: Kim Kardashian.

In the song “In My Feelings,” Drake included the line “Kiki, do you love me?” In this case, Kiki is supposedly Kardashian. Drake and the reality TV star allegedly had a relationship before she started dating West.

How has Kanye West reacted to Drake’s newest accusations?

The latest blow in this feud comes from Drake. He was asked about West’s music and made a comment about West’s new Christian conversion.

When asked if he would continue his famous beef with West, the former Degrassi star replied: “I guess. I don’t know. I mean, he’s, you know…God bless him on his new journey, but he’s making…I don’t even know if he’s ever going to make secular music again.”

There was some confusion over the meaning of the words secular and non-secular in the interview, but Drake was basically trying to say he doesn’t see West as a threat because he no longer makes non-Christian music. It was obvious shade, which must mean the answer to the question of whether or not Drake would continue the feud is a resounding “yes.”

West shot back. He didn’t mention Drake by name, but he did address the religious element to his recent music. He said he’s okay with being called “bizarre” for some of his recent antics, but not secular.

West said: “Because secular is trying to say that I’d do anything for anyone other than Christ. That’s where they got it messed up. That’s where they got it twisted.”

So it seems that despite West’s recent religious awakening, the feud is still on. Fans may have thought that West’s new faith would have had him in a more forgiving mood, but it seems like Drake still gets under his skin.

As for Drake, he won’t stop beefing with West anytime soon either. He told interviewers: “if he turns up on me again, I’ll turn up on him. That’s just what it is. I’m always down.”
