Lawyer of PSG Star Achraf Hakimi Denies Allegation of Rape at His Home

Lawyer Fanny Colin has asserted that the rape allegation against Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi is ‘false’. On Monday, February 27th, a 24-year-old woman accused the Moroccan international of raping her at his home in a Paris suburb on February 25th. French prosecutors have reportedly initiated a preliminary investigation into the accusation. According to a source, confirming an article in Le Parisien newspaper, the woman reported the incident at a police station on Sunday but did not file charges. Colin stated that Hakimi is “calm and is making himself available to the authorities”. In a statement, PSG expressed their support for the player, who has firmly denied the accusations and trusts the justice system. The public prosecutor’s office in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, declined to comment but noted that information already made public in the media “undermined the necessary investigations to find out the truth”. The report detailing the charges claims Hakimi was only informed about the probe being opened 90 minutes before the Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Paris on Monday evening. He was honored at the ceremony, where he was named in the FIFPro men’s world team of the year.
