Vanessa Carlton Denounces Chris Brown After He Celebrates Her Music

Chris Brown’s celebration of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” backfired when the pop singer introduced up Breezy’s previous on International Women’s Day.

Earlier as we speak, Brown shared his love for the 2001 single, which he stated can be “LIT FOREVER” on Instagram. Shortly afterward, Carlton denounced Breezy, referencing his 2009 assault on Rihanna.

“Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line,” she wrote. “I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today.”

Breezy was undeterred, reposting her message to say that it “was and still is a great song.” He added: “The artist felt she was doing her duty as a woman to continue to spread this kind of hatred today. I won’t keep it up long. I just hope she knows she is loved and her song is great.”

Brown, who covered the song in 2011, deleted each of the aforementioned posts and as a substitute shared a clip from White Chicks, which options her single. His caption for the brand new submit reads: “I LOVE THIS SONG.”

Carlton hasn’t rejected flattery from others. Last yr, she championed Cam’ron after he sampled “A Thousand Miles” for his “10,000 Miles” single. “I thought wow, this totally works,” she instructed The FADER of his model. “‘A Thousand Miles’ is hard to sample. People would usually only use the piano interlude part but he uses the verse and chorus piano sections too. That’s one of the reasons it works so well. Also, it’s a dark tale. And that juxtaposition with the seemingly light and pretty piano thing totally works.”
